just a blurb- an update on life so far

Well it's been a while since my last post and I must say that I sorry for that... The summer has begun here.... We busted the kids out of school for an early vacation... We went to Niagara falls- it was fun... But wouldn't do it again... and would advise others not to do it either... The taxes there are outrageous!!

We spent lots of time planting our garden these last two weeks... When we bought this house, we said that we would try to get some clean-fill and just fill it all in... When we mentioned this to others, we were advised strongly not to do that... the soil in the garden is extremely furtile and has many nutrients that have been added over the years... So, we said what the heck... Let's do it... and so we did... Our garden is at least 20 feet wide by 60 feet long... And we have planted so many things that it's nearly insane... It's been hard to keep it watered because it is so far from the house... We still haven't found the 2 sprinklers that we moved in here with so i have to water by hand... With the bugs, it's pretty out of control... *note to self* buy sprinkler!!

doing laundry... making banana bread... washing the floors...

Started reading another good book... One Degree of Separation by Karen Kallmaker. It's about a woman named Marion who is a librarian who lives in Iowa City (Yeah, think Music Man)... Anyways she meets a woman who moves from out of state to get away from a nasty break-up... They of course fall in love with all the steamy scenes that go along with it... Can't wait to raed through it...

Have made 2 really great friends... Cecile worked with a woman named Lisa when she was at the Best Western Hotel... Well, we invited her and her gf to come to the wedding and we were quite surprised they showed... M(still in closet-must protect her identity) is very shy and hadn't really taken any time to talk to us... But since the wedding, they have become two of the adsolute best friends we could have... They have taken to the baby like she was their grand daughter... and it has been so fun to watch!! And I can never repay them or thank them enough for being there when we needed them the most...

A couple of Sunday's ago... Cecile was mowing the lawn... and a wire came ripping out through the lawnmower and sliced the front of her leg... It was a gash that was almost 5" long and and about 1/2 inch thick... Luckily I was in the garden at the time... Cecile laid down and raised her leg up in the air- i ripped my shirt off and squeezed it around the gash... called the ambulance... With 4 kids, it's hard to send them all to a destination- it feels like a burden... I sent the girls to Mia's best friends house... adn figured I would keep Terry adn the baby with me (I didn't have anywhere else to send them)... Right then, Lisa and M show up and were able to care for the baby and Terry... M went up and changed the baby's clothes she was all wet... adn they took them out to get a treat and then home to their house... When Cecile and I were able to get back to our house... we were surprised to see that the lawnmower was put away- the shed was locked- the house was all wrapped- the garage was all locked up... Everything was the way it should have been... (me- I would have left it all) I do thank them and consider them some really great friends...

that's about it for now... ~L
